"Ice Field Range"  by Henry Kliner

The Ice Field Range is located in Kluane National Park in Canada's Yukon Territories. This range of mountains cradles the Kaskawulsh glacier - the headwaters of the Slims River which empties into Kluane Lake. The fine silt, or glacial till, deposited by the melt waters of the Kaskawulsh can make hiking challenging. A boot stuck in this fine, powdery slurry can be difficult (if not impossible!) to extricate. A haven for Grizzly bears, the trail to the glacier is often closed when elevated numbers of these bears congregate in this area.
